Viva Sem Bet
A Brazilian movement for life beyond betting

Life beyond betting
begins in the morning.

Viva Sem Bet ("Live Bet-Free") is a movement against the harms of online betting in Brazil, now the world's fifth largest betting market. We were born from people who know this problem from the inside, and we exist to inform with sources, support those who want to stop, and gather the companies and channels that refuse betting money.

The initiative

Three things we do, in this order.

1 · Inform

Data and news with sources

An observatory where every number comes with its metric and primary source, plus an editorial digest of what is happening in regulation, public health and Congress.

2 · Support

A way out for those who want to stop

The real, free help channels available in Brazil, with zero judgement: self-exclusion, the public health system, mutual support groups and specialized clinics.

3 · Commit

The seal closes the commitment

For companies and channels that refuse betting money: a simple sign-up, your word given in public, and the seal in an open registry.

Observatory

No number without
a source and a metric.

Amount wagered, money transferred and operator revenue are three different things. Here, every figure comes with its explicit metric and primary source: journalists can quote without double-checking.

Stop betting

If you want to stop,
there is a free way out.

Stopping is not a matter of willpower. It is a way out built with support, information and one day at a time. Below are the real, free channels available in Brazil today.

1

Self-exclusion on licensed platforms

The first practical step, available right now: every regulated betting operator in Brazil (the .bet.br domain) must offer a self-exclusion tool that blocks your access for a period you choose. Look for "responsible gaming" or "self-exclusion" in your account settings. The official rules are on the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting page.

PRO-AMITI · Impulse Disorders Clinic (Hospital das Clínicas, São Paulo)

A program of the Institute of Psychiatry at HC-FMUSP dedicated to impulse control disorders, including gambling disorder. Offers screening and outpatient treatment (psychotherapy) for adults.

3

CAPS AD · Public psychosocial care centers

Free, in-person care through Brazil's public health system (SUS). Treats gambling disorder as what it is: a health condition recognized by the WHO (ICD-11), not a character flaw. Find the nearest center through your city's health department.

Gamblers Anonymous Brazil (Jogadores Anônimos)

A free fellowship of mutual support groups, present in Brazil since 1994, with in-person and online meetings in many cities. People who walked or are walking the same path, helping each other. No religious affiliation, no fees.

GREA · Alcohol and Drug Studies Group (IPq-USP)

A national reference in addiction treatment, including gambling disorder. Linked to the Institute of Psychiatry of the University of São Paulo, with specialized care.

For the family

You may need support too.

Living with someone who suffers with betting carries its own weight: fear, anger, guilt, exhaustion. The public care centers and mutual support groups also welcome family members. Seeking help for yourself is not selfish: it is part of the care.

Frequently asked questions

No judgement, straight answers.

Is it really free?

Yes. CAPS AD is part of the public health system, Gamblers Anonymous charges nothing, GREA serves through the public system. None of the paths listed here charges anything.

Do I need to "hit rock bottom" before seeking help?

No. The earlier you seek support, the easier and less painful the path tends to be. There is no minimum loss required to deserve help.

Will I be judged?

That is not our role, nor the role of the services listed here. Gambling disorder is recognized as a health condition by the World Health Organization. Nobody here treats it as a character flaw.

What if I relapse?

Relapse is part of many people's process and does not erase the progress already made. Support groups and care centers deal with it routinely, and the path stays open.

The seal

The seal closes the commitment.

No bureaucracy and no audits: a simple sign-up and your word, given in public. That is how a company or a channel declares it does not live on betting money. Each one's ethics is what counts.

Bet-Free Company seal
For companies of any industry
Bet-Free Media seal
For media outlets, channels, creators and clubs
How it works

Three steps, zero paperwork.

Step 1

Write to us with the organization's name, website or profile, and which seal fits: Company or Media. It takes two minutes.

Step 2

Give your word

Sign the public commitment. It is not a contract or an audit: it is your word, declared in public, with the weight it carries.

Step 3

Display the seal

You enter the public registry, receive the seal files and use them anywhere: website, storefront, packaging, footer, bio.

The commitment

The word you give, in the first person.

BET-FREE COMPANY
  • I take no sponsorship, investment or media money from betting companies.
  • I run no co-marketing or joint campaigns with betting brands.
  • I lend none of my spaces, website, events or packaging, to betting advertising.
BET-FREE MEDIA
  • I run no betting ads on any of my channels.
  • I accept no sponsorship, quota or naming rights from betting operators.
  • I produce no betting tips content and use no betting affiliate links.

We trust the word. The registry is public and anyone can verify who holds the seal. If the commitment is broken, the organization leaves the registry, with the right to reply. As simple as that.

Public registry

Every certified organization, in plain sight.

The transparency of this registry is the seal's main defense against fraud. Anyone can verify here whether a seal displayed by a company is real and current.

How the registry works

Issuance

Every approved organization enters here, with issue date and 12-month validity.

Renewal

Every 12 months, the commitment is reconfirmed. Without renewal, the seal expires and leaves the current list.

Revocation

If a seal is revoked for a proven breach, the history and the reason appear here, transparently.

absolute independence

We never take money from the betting industry.

No funding, no sponsorship, no partnerships. Our credibility is the product we do not negotiate.
